Clock Rewinders on a Book Binge is where Tara @ 25 Hour Books and Amanda @ On a Book Bender shamelessly plug each other, share the fantastic posts, giveaways, or whatever else we’ve found and loved by other awesome bloggers (or authors!) during the week, and talk about the books we plan on reading in the coming week.
MINDFUL MUSINGS RECAP
IN NATALIE'S WORLD
Hey guys! This week was fairly busy with Armchair BEA, but I had an absolute blast! I want to give a huge shout-out to the ladies who organized and monitored the event, because I think it went brilliantly! I got to discover several new blogs that are becoming fast favorites, and I was able to find out new things about the book blogs I already knew and loved.
I also had a fantastic birthday this week! I got lots of well wishes from my book blogging buddies, and my friends and I spent the day at the park, walking downtown, and (FINALLY) seeing The Avengers. What did I think of the movie? Well...it's just one more reason why I think the movie-making gods should give Joss Whedon all the money he needs to do whatever the heck he wants. :)
AROUND THE BOOK BLOGGING COMMUNITY
+ The people behind Armchair BEA post the results of their book blogger survey.
+ There was an interesting post about race at Teen Librarian's Toolbox. Earlier this week, TLT also posted about racial stereotyping in YA literature.
+ Kat at Cuddlebuggery wrote a fantastically humorous post entitled Five of the Worst Ways to Ask for Print ARCs.
+ Author Lia Habel gives some advice on writing.
+ Kristen talked about the pros and cons of rating YA books.
+ Alyssa at The Shady Glade posted the long list for the 2012 Book Battle! As one of the first round judges for the book battle, my job is to read as many books on the long list as possible and then submit my top ten list!
+ Superhero Nation posted the most common reasons why good manuscripts get rejected.
CURRENT EBOOK DEALS
Keep in mind that while these prices were accurate at the time of my posting them, they are subject to change at any time. Also, some of these deals may be repeats from last week, but I included them again for people who might have missed them the first time around. Finally, though I don't have time to cross check all of the Kindle and Nook deals, if you see a bargain book listed for one device, but not the other, you might want to double check yourself to see if it's on sale! The prices are often the same.

BOOKS, I READ THEM
I also started Patient Zero by Jonathan Maberry. I bought this book a few weeks ago from Barnes and Noble because it had three great things going for it: it was on sale for $1.99, had rave reviews from Felicia and Rachel, and ZOMBIES!!! I'm only like ten pages in so I don't have much of an opinion so far, but I can't wait to read more of it and see what all the hype is about!
NEW ON MY SHELF
I won these from Karen at For What It's Worth! I was so excited to get this box of books in the mail!
Have a great week, everyone!

Sounds like a great week, Armchair BEA looked like A LOT of fun!
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks so much for listing all the Kindle/Amazon deals, I'm off to check 'em out!
Armchair looks like so much fun. I'm going to have to check out a few of the posts.
ReplyDeleteI was at BEA but we don't really get to talk much about blogging while we're there.
I'm looking forward to your Shadow and Bone review. I have it coming up soon on my TBR pile.
Awesome that you had a great week. I won Shadow & Bone and it's on its way. Though I may save it until the beginning of July and read it on vacation if I can wait that long. Can't wait to read your review.
ReplyDeleteArmchair BEA was a ton of fun! I really liked the prompts this year and the overall participation. It was a lot of work though I feel like I need a vacation :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your birthday week ROCKED! And I NEED to read Patient Zero. I recently read Dead of Night and I'm truly a Maberry fan now! Thanks for the freebie links!
ReplyDelete(Happy Belated Birthday!!) Glad you had a great bday week!
ReplyDeleteAhhh The Avengers!!!! I love love loved that movie (saw it twice lol). I actually had to ask my boyfriend to watch all the movies (Thor, Ironman, etc.) with me because I hadn't seen any of them when I found out they were making an Avengers movie. I have to say though that Thor and Loki (omg love Loki!!!!) are my favorite characters (even though their comic isn't as popular as the others).
Oh! and before I forget and keep going on and on about how hot Thor and Loki are...
Thanks for putting up the ebook deals. The majority of my ebook purchases are usually free and I'm always looking for some really good deals.
Hope you are having a great weekend :)
