In My Mailbox (3-10-12)

As always, thanks to Kristi of The Story Siren for hosting!

It's been a little while since I've done an In My Mailbox, but I got LOTS of books this week, and I wanted to share them with all of you because...well...I'm excited about them. :) Image links go to Goodreads!

For Review

Fair Coin (Coin, #1)Lightbringer

Bought

from Better World Books. It's always SO hard for me to resist shopping here because the books are cheap, there's free shipping worldwide, and the proceeds go to reading and literacy-related charities. If you don't mind used books (though they offer new books as well), this is DEFINITELY a site to check out!

SunshineThe Outlaws of SherwoodThe Girl Who Could Fly
A Spy in the House (The Agency, #1)Wildwood Dancing (Wildwood, #1)

And just because I can't resist making one more plug for Better World Books (and no, I'm not getting anything for promoting them), I got all the above books for about $20, and the last three were hardbacks in library-binding.

The next ones are from Barnes and Noble, which had a sale on paranormal romance. You guys know me. I can't resist a sale!

Blood Bound (Unbound #1)Nightshade (Nightshade, #1)
This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, #5)One Grave at a Time (Night Huntress, #6)

and then there's this one, which I bought from B&N because I had a coupon

Blood Red Road (Dust Lands, #1)

Unfortunately, because I have been very click-happy with online book buying lately, I've decided to put myself on a book buying ban until the end of April. Sad, but true.

What did you guys get this week?

  3. Oh no, a book buying ban? I gotcha! It's pretty difficult for me too...especially when I go TO a store. Online I have a bit more control. But just a bit. :)

Nice picks you got there! If you like paranormal, I'd recommend the author Molly Harper if you haven't tried her already. Fave of mine!

  4. I've tried book buying bans and they don't work for me. That's why I love my e-reader as I buy a lot of e-books. LOL. Great haul never the less. Come visit me as well.

    1. I read Sunshine several years ago and remember enjoying it and thinking it was different than a lot of other books in the same genre, so when I saw it for sale I figured it was time for a reread.

The only Juliet Marillier book I've read is Daughter of the Forest, but I liked it. I've heard fantastic things about Wildwood Dancing though!

  17. Book buying ban.... I wonder how long you'll actually last before you cave? haha. Good luck with it! But dang, you sure scored some bargains this week!

Oooh Fair coin and Lightbringer! I'm interested in reading both of those, so I look forward to your review. I've had a copy of Blood Red Road sitting in my bookshelf forever. I'm a little unsure if I'll like the writing style, but the amazing reviews I've read for this have me eager to try squeeze it in my TBR. Happy reading! :)

  21. Oooohhh I love the books by Jeanieane Frost. I love Cat & Bones. I have a copy of Blood Red Road but I haven't had a chance to read it yet. I've only recently started seeing The Agency series around with the release of this latest book but it looks really good. The more I see it, the more I want to read it! I love what you grabbed this week. Enjoy them all. ;)

  22. I hope you enjoy Blood Bound, I tried to read it recently but I couldn't get into it. Everyone says it's full of Awesome so I think I'm going to try again, I'm hoping things going on in my life were what held me back with this book.

LOVE Cat and Bones. A few weeks ago I went out and bought the remaining books in the series and I can hardly wait until Vlad's book comes out.

Nightshade looks really good. Another book to add to my wishlist!

Blood Red Road was really good. It's written in a completely different manner than most books we read. It takes a little getting used to but it works.

  26. Me too! I am on a book ban (except for the .25 or below) until Mid-April. It might be longer if I have to by a new AC unit for the house *sigh*

  27. Six books for around $20 is a steal! And it sounds like a great site, too. Blood Red Road is really good, once you get into the writing style.

I'm thinking of putting myself on a book ban too, especially after this week. Those darn Kindle deals always manage to draw me in though ;)

    Happy reading!

  30. Oh wow, what a fantastic pile of books you have this week! I hadn't heard of the first two, I'm going to have to check them out on GoodReads. I hope you like Blood Red Road, Natalie--it's kind of a polarizing book, but I thought it was pretty fun. :)
