Feature & Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts: Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.
This week's question:
Q: What book would you love to see made into a movie or television show and do you have actors/actresses in mind to play the main characters?

Synopsis
Love conquers all, so they say. But can Cupid’s arrow pierce the hearts of the living and the dead—or rather, the undead? Can a proper young Victorian lady find true love in the arms of a dashing zombie?
The year is 2195. The place is New Victoria—a high-tech nation modeled on the manners, mores, and fashions of an antique era. A teenager in high society, Nora Dearly is far more interested in military history and her country’s political unrest than in tea parties and debutante balls. But after her beloved parents die, Nora is left at the mercy of her domineering aunt, a social-climbing spendthrift who has squandered the family fortune and now plans to marry her niece off for money. For Nora, no fate could be more horrible—until she’s nearly kidnapped by an army of walking corpses.
But fate is just getting started with Nora. Catapulted from her world of drawing-room civility, she’s suddenly gunning down ravenous zombies alongside mysterious black-clad commandos and confronting “The Laz,” a fatal virus that raises the dead—and hell along with them. Hardly ideal circumstances. Then Nora meets Bram Griswold, a young soldier who is brave, handsome, noble . . . and dead. But as is the case with the rest of his special undead unit, luck and modern science have enabled Bram to hold on to his mind, his manners, and his body parts. And when his bond of trust with Nora turns to tenderness, there’s no turning back. Eventually, they know, the disease will win, separating the star-crossed lovers forever. But until then, beating or not, their hearts will have what they desire.

I would love to see Dearly Departed made into a movie, mainly because I think the whole steampunk Victorian era-meets-zombies things would make for an AWESOME movie!
As far as the casting goes, I don't have any particular actors that I have my heart set on, but I have been watching the TV series Merlin recently, and I think that actress Katie McGrath would make for a great Nora Dearly.
As far as the rest of the cast goes, I've got nothing so far, but I haven't exactly put a lot of thought into it either.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Oh! I absolutely love Katie! She is beautiful!

Katie McGrath is such a stunner! I remember when I was obsessed with Merlin, ha. I haven't read Dearly Departed yet but Victorian era-meets-zombies sounds totally amazing.
ReplyDeleteI'm four or five episodes into season 2 so far, and I'm really enjoying it! I just saw the episode when Lancelot and Arthur go off to save Gwen from kidnappers, and it was so good!: ) Lol.
DeleteEven though Dearly, Departed wasn't a fave of mine, I think it would make a completely awesome show, especially since it's written so visually. And I'd LOVE to see some of that steampunk come to life (plus, zombies!!).
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't quite a favorite of mine either (I gave it a three), but like you, I think it would make for an awesome visual adaptation.
DeleteNice casting, sounds good.

ReplyDeleteMy Friday Hops
I've not read it yet, but from her appearance I could SO see her in that type of role.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping LIO!
I haven't gotten to read this one yet, but I am all about the Victorian Age. I've always been slightly in love with it. There is something so magical about that time period, sitting on the cusp of a new century, the midst of industrialization, but still wrapped up in the traditions and customs of an older time. It's such a perfect setting for steampunk, too! It just gives it a natural flow. Plus, you really can't go wrong with zombies. It's pretty hard to make brain-eating boring (there is brain eating, I hope? Please say yes).
ReplyDeleteFunny that you mentioned Merlin too, as I've just started watching it not even a week ago because my younger brother swears by it. I'm not really crazy about it so far, but I'm willing to give it a shot. Katie McGrath has a stunning profile. That first picture is lovely!
It's not the greatest show ever, but I've gotten more and more into it as it goes on (I'm about halfway through season two now). Some of the episodes are obviously filler, but there some awesome ones thrown in as well!
DeleteOh, I still haven't read this one yet :( but Katie McGrath looks gorgeous! I'm yet to watch Merlin, but I must get onto that haha!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read this book, but I do want to eventually. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHiya your blog is really nicely designed - here's my FF

AAAW! You kill me! I STILL haven't read this, but I'm desperate too! And, uh, I LOVE Katie McGrath! Is she not... just her EYES! She's GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteDearly Departed would definitely make a cool movie, and I can totally picture her playing Nora, great pick =D

ReplyDeleteI loved Dearly Departed, and I think it would make an amazing movie too! It would be like...eye candy because of all the different costumes, special effects makeup, and machinery.
