Feature and Follow Friday!

Feature & Follow is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts: Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This week's question:

Q: Go count the number of unread books sitting on your shelf. How many?

?!?!?!?

First of all, let me give you a breakdown of my reaction to this post. Cue theme music:

Followed by an approximate idea of what my face looked like

You guys, my to-read pile is a MONSTER. Seriously, it has gotten ridiculous in the two and a half years I've been blogging. And because I'm at my parents' house visiting for the holidays, I can't actually go and count what I'm up to now. But I can tell you the number I was at in November, and that I've definitely increased that since then. Are you ready? Brace yourselves...

326

Yep. You read right. That wasn't a typo. I apparently have the awful tendency to buy/win/accept books for review WAAAAAY faster than I can actually read them. This number isn't even counting the God only knows how many e-books I have sitting on my Nook.

What about you guys? Are any of yours as bad (or, God forbid, WORSE) than mine?

Have a great weekend!

  1. If were are talking about the books I own and haven't read, I think it's about 80ish? Maybe 100? Definitely not 326! Too bad life can't slow down so we can just read.

  4. OH. My. Gosh. Dude, you have like twice + more books then my library's YA section has! That's so awesome =D

I'll have to count mine tomorrow but a lot of books aren't even on my shelf.lol

  7. LMAO! I love how creative you were with your post, Natalie. Love the theme music and pictures! You have a LOT of books to read. I'm closer to fifty, but that's just physical books on my shelf. I didn't count eBooks. Or the books I have in my Longaberger recycle bin basket (a big basket) in my closet LOL!

    Have a fantastic weekend!

  8. Good thing I'm writing rather than trying to talk because I'm speechless. You seriously have your own personal library. Which I think is awesome! And makes me feel better about my TBR. Thanks!

  9. Oh wow that is a lot! :o

  10. I'm HAPPY someone is almost up there with me. Or is really, because 75 more books is way too easy to accumulate.

    Thanks for stopping by LIO!

  11. I'm all for the big stack of old fashioned physical books . . . gives me something to do if I win the lottery, or if civilization breaks down into some post-apocalyptic dystopia. :)

  12. Mine is actually not that high! lol, but I'm sure when I come back in July I will buy lots of books and my tbr pile will be huge. :) lol.

  13. WHOA!!!! That is definitely a frightening number of books to have on your TBR list Natalie! Well done you, that deserves some sort of plaque or something:) Hope you have a great weekend!

  14. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Wow, you have a huge pile! I would be scared if mine was that big. Good luck reading them all and I hope you enjoy them! :)

  15. I just realized I didn't include my review pdf's. I just have a mental block now when it comes to my books. It stresses me out too much to see them staring at me competing to be picked up first.
Yes, I now think my books taunt me.
Isn't it weird how we HAVE to have a book & then when we get the book it will sit on our shelf unread for a year??

  16. That is a lot of books. I'm kinda jealous, but then I think about the torture of knowing that there are over 300 books unread and then I'm not jealous anymore :P

  17. That's a lot of books. The Jaws theme song is definitely appropriate. If I were you, that's what I'd play in my head everytime I heard the words "to read". I'm not sure if I even own that many books! I'm kind of jealous but kind of not. Jealous that you have so many books, not jealous about having to read all of them, haha.

    Happy friday!

  18. *Blinks* I can hear infamous Jaws music and since we've watching DWTS Season 13 (I remember that scream....) :D When I answered your comment back in my blog I was thinking around the region of 100 as most serious bibliophiles I've met and came stumbling on reading off from their pages. Hopefully, some reading challenges this year will help you whittle them down. :D I just found that about challenges after completing a Christmas book reading challenge that I have yet to post a wrap-up post. :D Good luck!

  19. 326 isn't bad! Really, I've seen so much worse from others (I'm talking about 1000+)

Right now I'm around 48, not too bad, but I'm trying not to buy a lot of books right now. ;)

  20. I refuse to count them on the basis I will end up looking like Janet Lee! LOL

We so need a huge library for all our books. A room just for books. *sigh*

  21. WOW! I totally think you deserve some sort of award for that one. I am tempted to get one of those cheesy personalized trophies for you.

(But seriously, that sounds both parts scary and awesome)

  22. O.O

Don't think I'm quite in the 300s just yet, but I've got at least 125-150 books on my ereader or on my nightstand waiting to be read. I think I'm gonna tweak my new years resolution a bit to save at least an hour every night for reading so I can try to catch up. Here's hoping for both of us!

  24. Finally someone who has more than me ;) I'm pushing 300 & was feeling bad when I saw all the double digit posts :)

  26. 326?!?! Crazy woman. I haven't counted, but I definitely have less than 40. Having as much as you sitting on my list would stress me out big time!

  27. LOL Very creative post! I'm not up to your number (yet) I probably will be sometime soon - I seem to be collecting ebooks waaay faster than I can read them. Especially free or on sale 0_0

Thanks for stopping by and I'm following via RSS (have been for awhile) :)
