Book Blogger Hop & Follow Friday!

It's Friday, which means there's another chance for YOU to do some networking! The hop is hosted by Jennifer @ Crazy for Books. Check out Jennifer's blog to sign up and start hopping!

This week's question: What's your all-time favorite book villain?

Hmm...that one's a toughie. I'm going to cheat and pick two:

Valentine from The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. He's just this twisted genius that's the proverbial monkey wrench in everyone else's lives. As far as character development in concern to villains goes, I think his is one of the best.

Circe from the Gemma Doyle trilogy by Libba Bray. First of all, Circe's alter ego (which I won't reveal in case you haven't read the books yet) completely fooled me. I never guessed that she was a villain. But I thought the most intriguing thing about Circe was that she served as a kind of a foreboding warning of what Gemma and her friends could become if they gave themselves over completely to the magic.

You guys also have the option of going over to Rachel's blog, Parajunkee's View, and participate in Follow Friday!

This week's question: TBA?

Haven't been here before? See what I've been up to recently!

Breakin' Up is Hard to Do:
When Do You
Break Up With a Series?

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Hi! Just stopping by from the Hop. Yeah-Valentine creeped me out. He was completely insane. Cassandra Clare did a great job with his character.
Hope you have a great weekend :)

  2. I haven't read either yet, but I want to start the Mortal Instruments immediately.

It's so hard for me to pick a villain that's my favorite.

  3. Valentine is definitely a bad guy, but got a feeling Sebastian will surpass him in the forth book (can't wait). But I think Major Prentiss from the Chaos Walking series has Valentine beat hands down.

  4. Happy Friday! Have a great weekend :)

  5. Happy Friday, Natalie!

I think my favourite book villain would just have to be Voldemort. Hands down, of course!

  6. Huh. I don't know those villains yet. Need to read those books.

Thanks for the Breaking Up discussion. It was fun.

    Happy Weekend, Nat.

  7. I had a really hard time with this question!
Have a great weekend and happy hopping!

  8. Valentine in a fantastic choice. I really enjoyed (maybe not the right word to associate with a villain) his character. I have yet to encounter Circe.

  9. Just hopping by. I haven't read either series even though I've got A Great and Terrible Beauty sitting on my bookshelf. I need to get around to reading that.

  10. Haven't read either series yet, but I love what you said about Valentine and character development. I love it when the bad guys are 3-dimensional and have a reason for their actions.

  11. Valentine is an awesomtastic choice! There I go making up my own words Oh, and Sebastian follows right behind him. Talk about creepy. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Victor from Vampire Academy is a tool, and what he did to Lisa was so sad!

    Have a great weekend!

  12. My favorite book villain is, hands down, is the Napoleon of crime -
    Professor James Moriarty.

It took me less than ten seconds to come up with my answer. But you'll
    never guess why.

Hop on over to my blog and find out --

  13. Hey there, I just followed you for FF/Blog Hop and I'd really appreciate it if you stopped by my blog to follow me as well!

I'm a new blogger (less than two weeks) so I'd really appreciate any other new followers as well! Thanks. (^_^)

  14. Thanks for stopping by my blog!!! As for your villains pick I haven't read both of those series..yet but they sound practically *evil*.

  15. I love the Gemma Doyle trilogy! I haven't finished the last book yet though, I bought it and read a small way in but got distracted with a bunch of other things. I can't wait to finish it though.

I'm not sure on my fav villain.... probably go with Voldemort (for obvious reasons), Bellatrix Lestrange (she's a crazy, psychic b-tch!) and President Snow from The Hunger Games. Actually, Coin from Mockingjay too, for a particular event I hate her for!!

  16. Hopping by...I love this week's question.

Stop by my blog for my answer and a book giveaway.

    Book Giveaway for: LITTLE PRINCES.

  17. Valentine was on my short gotta give it up to Lord Voldemort! He kills little children! lol

  18. Hey Natalie! *waves* I hope you have a great weekend!

  19. Oh, Valentine never scared me too much. I've only read the first two books though. He just seems to lord it over people in a very "Mwa-hahahahaha!" kind of way.
    So what!

I think President Snow from the Hunger Games or Leck from Graceling and Fire is much creepier. Oh, I can't wait for Bitterblue - I think it's about Leck's daughter who escapes him? It sounds scary and awesome all at the same time.

  20. Circe is such a great pick!!!
